WADE, Mary Catherine (July 7, 1927, to April 27, 2020) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Mary Catherine Wade (nee Parsons), aged 92 years, on Monday, April 27, 2020, at Pleasant View Towers. Mary is predeceased by her husband Patrick (October 29, 2001); parents Gertrude and Michael Parsons “Father Brien”; parents-in-law Catherine and Gregory Wade; brothers Michael (Frances), Richard, Martin (Annie), Norman (Jane), and infant Leo; sisters infant Bernadette and Mildred (Gerald) McDonald; sisters-in-law Margaret (Aloysius) Hayward, Ann (Leo) Snook, brother-in law John Wade and daughter-in-law Judy Wade. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children Gregory (Judy-deceased), Gertrude (Wayne) Roche, John (Nora) Wade, Michael (Ruth) Wade, Catherine (Glen) Wilkinson, grandchildren Melissa (Jason); Shawn (Melissa); Kerri (Jason), Roxanne, Rodney (Lisa), Steven (Christina); Meghan (James) and Shelaine; great-grandchildren Alyiah, Xavier, Jadyn, Shealynn, Kyzzah, Reagan, Morgan and Lauren; sisters Josephine (William-deceased) Martin, Genevieve (Patrick) Fleming, Madonna (Gerard) McGrath and brother John (Theresa) Parsons, little buddy, Nathan Rideout, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Mary will be remembered for many things especially her excellent baking skills and the many wedding cakes she baked and decorated for family and friends. Many times it has been said Mary Wade made my wedding cake. A special thank you to family physician Dr. Paula Walsh, and a very special thank you to Marion McCarthy and Amanda Whiffen and their families for their care and support of Mary before she entered long term care. Our sincerest and heartfelt thanks to the kind and caring staff at Pleasant View Towers, especially those on 2 Northwest, for your kindness, caring and support of Mom and our family. Words cannot express the extent of our appreciation for all you did for Mary and our family during her last days with us. Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, Flatrock, NL, or a charity of one’s choice.
A Mother’s love is a blessing and we were truly blessed.
