MARTHA SIERKS
August 5th, 1937 – June 30th, 2020
It is with sadness that the family of Martha announce her sudden passing at 82 years of age. Martha (Klatt) was born in Puschka, Poland and immigrated with her family to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada from Germany where at the age of 17 she accepted Jesus as her Savior. She was promptly baptized on July 17, 1955 and then married Horst Sierks on March 17th, 1956. Martha & Horst were blessed with three boys, Marvin, Gerald & Roland. Martha & Horst were welcomed into Rowendale Baptist Church in December of 1998, there continuing serving the church in any capacities including Librarian, Usher and Seniors Event Coordinator.
Horst passed away after a battle with cancer on January 1st, 2000. Martha and her surviving sisters, Toby & Mary served God’s Kingdom, visiting the sick and shut-in’s. They offered people their time, showing much love, this continuing even of late as they did window visits together. In John 13:34, Jesus says “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
An outdoor graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Please come prepared for the weather and bring a lawn chair.
