Margaret Douglas (McCall) Wenzel, a long time resident of Hanover, after a full life, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28th, 2020.
She was predeceased by her husband Thorold ‘Tod’ (1980), daughter Susan (2005) and sister Winifred (2016). Left to mourn is her devoted daughter Catherine (Glenn).
Born in Cornwall, Ontario, to James ‘Jim’ McCall and Catherine ‘Katie’ Moir, on June 19th, 1925. She moved with her family to Allan Park in the 1930’s. After ‘the war’ she met Tod. They wed in 1950 and soon after purchased a home in Hanover where she resided for 65 years.
Having lived through the Depression and WWII in her formative years, Margaret’s life experiences helped her develop a strong sense of independence and resolve.
Throughout her working years, she held various career positions with local Hanover businesses, and in her retirement she was an active volunteer in the community.
Her faith was very important to her and she was a long standing member of St. James Anglican Church, Hanover.
Margaret will be missed by all who knew her. Internment has taken place at the Hanover Cemetery.
If you wish to express your sympathy, a memorial donation to the Foundation for Community Living Owen Sound and District or a charity of your choice in her memory, would be appreciated.
