MAJOR KENNETH « KEN » HOFFER (RET.)
Passed Away in his 90th year on December 13th, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Ken is survived by his best friend, and first love, Iris. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Gerry. His legacy lives on in his children Ken (Judy), Darrell, Carol, and Susan. Ken’s nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren were his pride and joy in his golden years,
Ken attended K.C.I. and was a graduate of Royal Roads and R.M.C.. He earned his pilot’s wings in 1952. Ken Spent 12 years in maritime command, a two year tour as C/O Sioux Lookout, and a tour in Ottawa for flight safety. After retirement, Ken worked in administration at the LBP airport before returning to his hometown of Kitchener in 2012.
Ken’s love of teaching was shared with his children through driving. canoeing and camping lessons. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will affectionately remember his ability to colour exactly in the lines, his love of Pixar movies, and his warm hugs.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a full memorial and celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region to assist those in need.
