Obituary for Lynda Diane Delaney
January 29th, 1944 – July 28th, 2020
Lynda passed away peacefully with family by her side and surrounded by love.
She was predeceased by her father Ken Maine, mother Jessie Delaney and dad Cameron Delaney, her sister Kathy and brother David.
She is survived by her daughter Roberta (Baz), son Mark (Lara), daughter Kiersten (Luther), son Scotty, and son Tyler (Megan).
She will be profoundly missed by brother Trevor (Darlene), brother John (Lynn), sister Erin (Keith), brother Rob (Yavhel), brother Ryan (Carlos), and sister Cassandra (Ken).
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Brianna, Zak, Jake, Ashley, Frankie, Piper, Griffin and baby boy Hjorthoy who will be here in November. She also leaves her wonderful great grandchildren Wyatt and Farynn.
She is survived by her many wonderful nieces and nephews, and dear friends Claire and Gai to name just a couple.
Lynda’s legacy will be one of unconditional love and selflessness. Although she endured many health issues on her life’s journey, she was unfailingly optimistic and never gave up the struggles she endured!
She was blessed with long and enduring friendships with both Claire and Gai. In particular, the family would like to thank Claire and Gerry who were a constant source of love and support, with a friendship that sustained her through life’s ups and downs. Their friendship meant the world to her.
A special thank you to Dr. Peter Hayton and Dallas for their thoughtful and continued care of Lynda throughout the years.
Lynda showed her love through her formidable baking skills (world’s greatest cinnamon buns, with or without raisins). She provided shelter to anyone who needed it and would have gladly given the shirt off her back, even when she herself had so little to share. She loved country music and old westerns, and her gaming skills were otherworldly.
When a member of ones family passes away, it is as though a Library has burned down and a host of stories and memories passes into the ether. That too which made their presence tangible becomes the fabric of shared memory, poorer for the loss, richer for having them as our shared journey.
A celebration of Lynda’s life will take place at a date yet to be determined.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Lynda Diane Delaney 2020..
