Loucks, Dorothy O.
Born in Toronto on October 12, 1926, a son of the late Robert Beaconsfield and Cecilia (nee Phillips) Hungerford of Cork County, Ireland, Dorothy, a longtime resident of Meaford and lately of ‘Seasons’ in Owen Sound, passed away peacefully on Friday June 26, 2020 at the age of 93.
Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur G. Loucks in 1997 and is remembered as a devoted ‘Mom’ by her children: daughter Diane Kimmerly and son William ‘Bill’ Loucks and his wife Sheryl all of Meaford, daughter Karen Fox and her husband Wayne of Owen Sound, and daughter Catherine Doherty-Mulder of Alliston. She will be recalled as a much loved and sorely missed grandmother and great-great-grandmother by Bruce Kimmerly and his fiancée Elissa of Newmarket, Nancy Miller and her husband Dan of Stayner and their children Alexis and Kendra, Richard Loucks and his wife Melanie of Orleans and their children Brody and Kylie, Joshua Loucks of Gatineau, James Fox of Owen Sound, Thomas Fox of London and his children Ella and Evelyn, Daniel Fox also of London, Patrick Doherty, Michael Doherty and his wife Sandra and their daughter Victoria, and Cassandra Doherty-Mrowietz all of Alliston and she was predeceased by a grandson Roger Doherty Junior in 2011 and is remembered also by his daughter Lilly.
Dorothy was predeceased by brothers Robert ‘Bob’ Hungerford and Richard Hungerford and by sisters Isabella Shortt and Gladys Brown and was a special aunt to her several nieces and nephews and their families.
A private family visitation was held at the Ferguson Funeral Home on Monday June 29, 2020. Due to current Covid restrictions, family and invited friends only will attend a service of prayer, led by family friend Giles Haché, and a service of committal and interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
