Obituary
WUDRICK, Lloyd “Woody”
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd “Woody” Wudrick on July 8, 2020 at the age of 87. Lloyd was born on April 5, 1933 in Bergheim, SK to Reinhold and Matilda Wudrick. The Wudrick family moved to Sutherland in 1940 where Lloyd attended Saskatoon Technical Collegiate and eventually got a job with CP Rail. Lloyd moved to Moose Jaw and worked a short time with CPR before moving back to Saskatoon. He joined the Saskatoon Fire Dept. on November 16, 1958 and retired as a Battalion Chief on February 19, 1993 after 34 years of dedicated service.
Lloyd was very involved in the community of Saskatoon and in his own life. Lloyd coached minor hockey and was a league commissioner with Saskatoon Minor Hockey. He enjoyed golfing and played as often as he could. He was an active participant and advocate of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit at the Fieldhouse. Lloyd received awards for donating plasma; volunteered for the RUH Cardiac Patients Ward and most recently he took great pride in singing with the Contemporary Choir at St. Martin’s Church. Lloyd loved live music and theatre.
Lloyd married his first wife Muriel (deceased) and together they had four children.
In 1987, Lloyd married his second wife Bonnie, who had three children making them a blended family of seven. Bonnie and Lloyd enjoyed travelling, golfing and became members of the Good Sam RV club. Both loved watching their children and grandchildren achieve many accomplishments both in sports and in life. Lloyd felt very blessed to have such a wonderful loving family and many close friends. He loved socializing and any opportunity to get together with friends or family. Lloyd will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Erickson-Wudrick of 33 years and their seven children: Kim Wudrick (Rhonda), Lindsay Wudrick (Christine), Jeffrey Wudrick (Tina), Karen Wudrick McKenna (Ian), Dan Erickson (Joanne), Darby Erickson (Dave), 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Lloyd is also survived by his two siblings: Anne Morrison and Ed Wudrick (Kelowna, BC). Lloyd was predeceased by his stepson Darryl Erickson, his parents and his siblings: Gordon Wudrick, Gertrude Story, and Elsie Davidson.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
