Letitia « Lettie » M.
Renton, 98, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of
Stilesville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday,
October 5, 2020.
Born in Stilesville, she was the
daughter of the late Allen and Jennie (Horsman)
Briggs.
Lettie was a former employee of
the T. Eaton Co. Ltd. Catalogue Department with 13 years’
service and retired from Moncton Crushed Stone (Division of Modern
Enterprises Ltd.) with 11 years’ service. She was a Member
and Honorary Elder of the former Stilesville United Church (now
Visions United Church) and a life member of the UCW. Lettie enjoyed
travelling, quilting and spending quality time with her
family.
Lettie was a great storyteller,
always a story while visiting her about her adventures, camping and
genealogy.
Lettie is survived by her seven
grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and four great great
grandchildren; sister, Ruby (Briggs) Steeves of Stilesville and
several nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
In addition to her parents,
Lettie was predeceased by her husband, Archie Renton (1980), daughter,
Donna Blakney (Harold); son, Dennis (Eleanor); infant granddaughter,
Shannon; grandsons, Shawn, Kristian and Aaron; brother, Frederick and
sisters, Myrtle and Beatrice.
Graveside Service for Lettie
will be held at Stilesville Cemetery at a later
date.
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657
Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of
arrangements.
