Leroy’s Obituary
BLAUVELT, Leroy Aaron – age 59, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born September 7, 1960 in Gavelton, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of the late Nathaniel and Isabelle (Muise) Blauvelt. Leroy worked in the mink rendering and logging industries, as well as having worked as a carpenter. He loved animals, especially his dogs, and enjoyed trout fishing, hunting and drawing. He is survived by his common-law partner, Charlene Hudson, as well as by step-daughters, Suzanne Doucette (Joshua Wells) and Ashley Doucette (Nathan LeBlanc), all of Yarmouth; grandchildren, Braxton, Seth, Karter and Ella; siblings, Oscar Blauvelt, Randell Blauvelt, Melvin (Marie) Blauvelt, Kathleen Blauvelt, George Blauvelt, Gertrude Blauvelt along with many nieces and nephews. Also special to Leroy were Sam, Beau, Eden and Alyssa, who referred to him as “Uncle Leroy”. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Jean (Blauvelt) Walsh and a brother, Ernest Blauvelt. Because of restrictions associated with COVID-19, a private visitation will take place, followed by interment at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Tusket. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to H.M.
