Peacefully passed away at the Brantford General Hospital on April 25, 2020 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of Stella for 69 years. Loving father of Irene Leidal and her husband Larry of Simcoe; and Henry and his wife Kathryn (Gedge) of Brantford. Loving Dziadzuis of Andrew (Fuiboon) and Larry Jr. Leidal; Michael (Evelyn) and Peter Gregory; and Matthew, Duncan, and Brock Dubicki and Great-Grandfather of Jack Gregory. Predeceased by his mother Janina and father Joseph, and his daughter Christine Gregory and son-in-law David Gregory. Also predeceased by brother Stanislaw, and sisters Anna, Eleonora, and Ewelina. He is also survived by his brother Waclaw and his wife Mary and many nieces and nephews. Leon was a Veteran of the Second World War. He served with the 2nd Polish Corps 8th British Army, Italy. He was a thirty-two year employee of Canada Glue. A long time member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Polish Combatants Assoc. of Canada Br. 4, Polish Alliance of Canada Br. 10, Royal Canadian Legion South Brant Br. 463, Canadian Military Heritage Museum, Polish Canadian Seniors Club. A private service will be held for Leon. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brantford General Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
