Laurie Glendon Lunn
1931-2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce
Laurie’s passing at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville at
the age of 89 on July 22, 2020. Born in Kentville, he was the son of
Edward and Elizabeth (Barkhouse) Lunn. Laurie worked for Willett Fruit
Company, later Bolands, until they closed the Kentville office. It was
a job he loved to get up every morning to go to. He was a
loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He looked
forward to every visit from every family member, old or young. Laurie
is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Yvonne (Poirier);
daughter, Carole Blackbird; son-in-law, Steve; their children, Shawn
Blackbird (Michelle) and Andrew Blackbird (Melanie); daughter, Melanie
Lunn; son-in-law, Craig Dunham and their 4-legged children; son, Glen
Lunn and his son Ryan. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Liam
Barteaux, Kaelyn Blackbird, Adelynn and Sam Blackbird and several
nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by his sister, Christina Vidito and her husband, Ralph;
niece, Cindy-Lee and nephew, Ralph Vidito, Jr. In keeping with his
wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral or
visitation. The family would like to especially thank the nurses, Dr.
McMillan and Dr. Clark in the ICU at Valley Regional Hospital for
their caring and kindness to Laurie and the whole family and the
nurses in Medical B for keeping him comfortable in his last days. We
would also like to thank Dr. Nunn and Janice, his family doctor and
nurse. Donations in Laurie’s memory may be made to the
charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
