Obituary
THEIS, Ken
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ken Theis on July 2, 2020. Ken was born October 6, 1942 to Joe and Ann Theis. He was the eldest of three and grew up on the family farm near St. James, Saskatchewan. Ken loved the farm and even after leaving it to become an electronics technician at Sears, he always found time to help out with harvest. Ken married Elaine Gehlen in 1968 and began a life in Saskatoon. Soon Jeff and Sherri would round out their family. Ken loved all sports and outdoor activities like fishing, hunting and camping. He golfed, curled, bowled, round and square danced with Elaine, played slow pitch, enjoyed tennis and later pickleball. Ken and Elaine loved to spend time with their family and friends playing cards or cheering on the Riders. He coached his son in hockey and baseball and was always up for a game of catch. Ken worked at Sears for 30 years and after retirement he and Elaine enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Arizona. He spent quality moments with his two grandsons puttering in the garage, playing in the backyard, reading, and being an awesome Grandpa. Ken was a hard-working man, who was known for fixing almost anything. He was a man with a strong faith in God, that never left him. Ken was predeceased by his wife Elaine in 2018. Ken leaves to mourn his son Jeff Theis (Liz) Shayla and Aaron; daughter Sherri Moroz (Clint), grandsons Brett and Ethan; siblings Millie (Dale) Weiman and Carol (Eric) Davis; sisters-in-law Linda (Gord) Snell, Lorna (Werner) Yungmann; and brothers-in-law Ray (Marj) Gehlen and Ron (Janice) Gehlen, and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church for friends and family (invite only due to COVID-19 requirements). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan (#301-2550 12th Ave, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1).
