Cassey, June (Pappas)
Age 93, died peacefully November 4th, 2020. She is now reunited with her loving husband Joe Cassey.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. June was happiest when she was entertaining friends and family at her home in Ottawa or at the cottage at St Pierre du Wakefield. June and Joe’s parties were legendary.
June spent many years working for the labour movement in Canada and was most proud of her time at the Canadian Labour Congress.
June was many things to many people but was especially kind to animals and was affectionately known as « The Cat Lady of Centertown » for her constant care and support of stray cats.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 16 at 11:00 am at Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa. Covid protocols will be observed. Please visit hpmcgarry.ca to RSVP and confirm your attendance.
