Passed peacefully away on October 21, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home surrounded by her loving family. Josephine Lucy Simms (nee Mullaly), aged 92 years. Predeceased by husband Frank (1973); parents Lawrence and Mary; siblings Mary Ellen (Richard), Jack (Rita), Bill (Gen), Leo, Bridget (Pat) and Gertrude (John); parents in law William and Louise and brothers and sisters in law Hal (Carmel), Jack (Mary), Robert, William (Mary), Dorothy (Stan), Kathleen (Mike), Elizabeth (Harold); and dear friend John Murphy. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are her children Larry (Colleen), Joanne (Bill Dohey), Judith (Michael Brennan) and Craig (Madonna); her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, Allison (Brian) and James, Jeffrey (Kathryn), Hillary (Ricky), Chris (Sarah and Gavin), and John and Michael; sister Marie (Dan Gogal) and brother Bernard; sister in law Shirley Mullaly and brother in law Raymond; special friend and caregiver Winnie Tapper; and many loved nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends, especially Carmel McDonald, Elsie Dillon, Peg Brennan, Ruth Collins, Dorothy O’Neil, Bertie Brake and Tom and Theresa Lundrigan. Heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff of Cambridge Estates and St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their wonderful care and the residents, families and volunteers for their warm friendship. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, with visitation on Friday from 2 pm – 6 pm. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at 11 am at Caul’s Chapel. Interment to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, funeral service is by invitation only.
