PFEIFER, Josephine (Helen)
August 7, 1940 – February 5, 2020
It is with over whelming sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Josephine at the age of 79. Wife to Leo for 61 years. Dear mother to Bonnie, Dwayne (deceased) and Rachel. Grandmother to Mark, Ryan and Courtney. Great-grandmother to Brevyn, Meara, Bodi, Henley and Hudson.
Born and raised in Kamsack, Saskatchewan on the farm and being an only child, she learned to work the gardens and care for the animals. Married in 1958 and moved to Medicine Hat in 1959 where she brought up her three children and worked at Dominion Glass and the Medicine Hat Hospital. In 1989 Leo and Josephine moved to Maple Ridge, BC where she also worked sometime at Maple Ridge Hospital.
Josephine or Josey and Jo she was called, was a caring, generous and kind soul who cared for the people surrounding her. She had a sense of humour and always liked playing tricks. She had a true passion for growing spectacularly beautiful flowers. With her Ukrainian heritage she was a great cook and baker as well.
Josephine was predeceased by her parents Mike and Anne Wakaryk and her son Dwayne Pfeifer. She leaves to cherish her memory, her in-laws, Alan Pfeifer, Doug & Bev Pfeifer, Annette & Ron Guenther, Jack Leis, Elaine Pfeifer, Dorothy Pfeifer and Alice Bates. Her children Bonnie and Rachel, Sandi Pfeifer daughter in law, son in laws Howard & Jim. Her grandchildren Mark, Ryan and Courtney. Many extended family and many, many friends.
