John “Jack” Lindsay Collins
Peacefully passed on December 13th, 2020 at the age of 80. Loving husband of Isabelle Collins (Nee Vezina) of 33 special years. Proud father of David (Angela) Schmidt, Connie (Guy) Jette, Don (Pamela) Vezina and the late Raymond Vezina (1999). Special Papop and Grandpa John of Holly, Nicolle, Maegan, Cheryl, Jeffrey, Courtney, Chelsey, and 6 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his siblings Alma Van Alstyne of Glencoe and Bert Collins of Sudbury. John is also predeceased by his nephew Robbie Van Alstyne and Ted Collins. John is remembered by his nieces Diane and Lisa Van Alstyne, Julie Lamoureux, his nephew Charlie Collins and his many great and great-grand nieces and nephews.
John was born on May 30th, 1940 in Strathroy, Ontario to his parents Edward “Ted” and Nevina “Neva” Collins (Nee Lindsay). John will forever be remembered for his love of outdoors. An avid outdoorsmen, in tune with nature and all of its’ blessings. John’s dream job was his 15 years spent working for the St. Clair Conservation. John was a story teller for every occasion. John will be fondly remembered by everyone he encountered through the adventure that was his life.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18th, 2020 at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Operation Smile Canada. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com.
