John Peter Jack Weddall Sunday October 4th 2020

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden & unexpected passing of Jack on Sunday morning, October 4th, 2020 at the age of 84 in his home with his beloved wife, daughter, son, & daughter-in-law present. Jack had a 40 year history of heart disease.
He was born in Belmont, Manitoba on the family farm, the son of the late Charles & Lavella Weddall. He helped out on the farm until his employment at the Belmont Bakery (owned by the Dandridge Family). Jack & Margie were married on December 10th, 1960 at the Belmont United Church & began raising their family. After the Belmont Bakery was destroyed by fire, Jack and Margie moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1966 and worked with Natural Bakery for approx. 4 or 5 years. Shortly thereafter, he changed careers & was employed with the St. James School Division where he remained until his retirement in 1997.
After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family & friends. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life and he enjoyed spending time with them. They all have special memories to keep close.
He loved attending to his yard and maintained a meticulous green weed free lawn. He loved gardening and had a green thumb when it came to his beloved flowers. Jack enjoyed walking and would always strike up a conversation with whomever he bumped into along the way. Two of his favorite spots over the years were Robins Donuts & The Headingley Grill for coffee, good food shared with family and friends.
Jack touched the lives of many with his kind heart and caring personality. He loved his family and helped his extended family. He positively influenced all our lives and lives of others like the students in the schools where he worked as a custodian. When people found out he was our Dad we would hear, «Really!» They would share stories of how he sat and listened to them in the coffee room, laughing along and accepting & supporting them through their difficulties
.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Charles & Lavella Weddall (Cline), uncle & aunt Charles & Margaret Williamson, brother & sister-in-law Hugh & Bev Weddall, brother-in-law Helgi Bardason, brother-in-law Art Goetz, sisters Margaret Vrooman & Harriett (Grace) Goetz, nephew Curtis Vrooman & by great nephew Brant Weddall.
