Jennifer Hastings
On May 16, 2020, at the age of 43, Jennifer Hastings (nee DeRooy) of Richmond passed away peacefully, with family by her side. She will be remembered as the loving wife of John Hastings for 19 years, and the treasured mother of Christina and Cameron. She is the beloved daughter of Peter DeRooy and Jan Gahagan of Winchester, and cherished sister of Diane Dauphinais (Chris) of Greely. She is the dear daughter (in-love) of Elizabeth and the late Paul Hastings, of Brockville, and the dear sister-in-law of Julie Tedford of Brockville. Jennifer is the adored aunt to Kyle, Arianna, Emily and Sammy, as well as a beloved niece of Cornelius “Coney” and Elaine DeRooy, Judi and Mike Baril, and Bob and Gail Hastings. She will be missed by life-long best friend Brigitte Geraghty, and many other close aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jennifer was a resilient tower of strength who gave selflessly to others and touched the hearts and lives of everyone she met. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Funeral Arrangements
Due to Coronavirus restrictions a private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held once public gatherings are permitted. Donations to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
