Obituary of James Pierman
Peacefully passed away with family by his side at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the age of 62. Husband of the late Brenda and partner of Theresa Smith. Devoted father of Michael (Ainslie), Craig (Katrina) and Jaimie (Ryan). Step-father of Brandon Smith (Sandy), Vanessa McAulay (Jamie) and the late Stohrie Smith. Adored Grandpa of Jack, Gabriella, Graidie and Ivie. Dear son of Ken and Barb Pierman. Brother of Marty (Cheryl) and Pat (Brenda). Jim will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Jim enjoyed the freedom of the country lifestyle offered by Goulais River, where he was raised and chose to live his life. He was very proud of the many projects he completed during his career as a construction project manager. He was also heavily involved within the community. He was instrumental in the building and operation of the Captain Tilley Community Center and appreciated his time on the board. Socially, Jim could not pass up the opportunity to spend time with family and friends and was well known for his drop in visits. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and preparing hearty home cooked meals for the frequent crowd of people that would gather at his house. His favourite times were sunny summer afternoons spent boating, or watching his children waterskiing from the shore of his waterfront home.
Jim was proud of his work, appreciated his community, and loved his family. He truly enjoyed life and lived it his way.
A private Celebration of Life will be held. Memorial donations to the Goulais Fire and Rescue Volunteers would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).
