Jacqueline Jackie Morissette 1930 2020

Obituary for
Jacqueline « Jackie » Morissette
Morissette, Jacqueline (Jackie)
1930 – 2020
The family of Jacqueline (Jackie) Morissette sorrowfully announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother on Friday November 27, 2020 at the Timmins and District Hospital Hospice at the age of 90 years. She was surrounded by her loving family during her last days before she peacefully went on.
Although there were many barriers separating her from her family during 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Charlie was able to get regular visits in with his beloved wife at Extendicare as much as the regulations allowed during this tenuous time. Although visits with her children were limited, they were able to make up for lost time during her last week in Palliative Care. We were blessed to have these few days of connection before her passing which has given us peace and acceptance to move forward.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 72 years Ehude (Charlie) Morissette, her children Gilbert (JoAnne), Norman (Jo-Lee), Mark (Claudette) all of Timmins and Michele (Brent Trudell) of Thunder Bay; her grandchildren Julie (Paul), Glenn (Nataly), Kim, Shawn (Micheline), Tammy (Ron), Andrea (Matt), Kaylee (Fei Yi Fan), Cora, Marc, Dominique (Cody), Brandon, Heather, Melinda (Glen), Valerie and Alex; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her siblings Joyce Clement, Nona Worth and Bill Pretty (Janet), her sister-in-law Diane Pretty, Marie Ouimette (Phil) and Roger Morissette.
At the age of 80, Jacqueline had the wonderful and glorious privilege of being welcomed into the lives of her biological family whom she is survived by Rick Wilson (Beverly) and John Wilson (Claudia) all of Kirkland Lake. Jackie’s newfound family welcomed her into their world and accepted her without question as one of their own by hosting an 80th birthday party for her. Jackie was predeceased by her parents Jack Pretty (1983) and Ardella Cook (1992), her infant daughter Lynn (1952), her son Allan (2015) and her grandson Robert (2020) as well as her siblings and in-laws too numerous to list but not forgotten and much loved.
Jackie worked for over 26 years at Timmins Automotive before her retirement. She was an avid volunteer for the Porcupine Agricultural Society, Timmins and District Hospital Auxiliary and the Timmins Branch Legion 88 Women Auxiliary as well as the Lord’s Kitchen. The family would like to thank the staff of the Porcupine Lake Wing at Extendicare for their kind and loving care these past 11 months, as well as the staff at the Hospice of T.D.H.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 1st, 2020 at 1 pm at St-Dominique Church. Interment will follow at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday November 30, 2020 from 1pm to 4pm at LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. Respecting the current pandemic provincial guidelines, wearing of masks, physical social distancing and maximum capacity will be in place during visitation and the funeral. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences or donations can be made at www.lessardstephens.com
