Obituary
JOHN “JACK” ROGERS
June 3, 1929 – Dec. 25, 2020
John “Jack” Rogers was born in Edgerton, Alta. and raised in Paradise Valley, Alta. where his dad was a grain buyer. He joined the RCAF in 1949 and spent 34 years serving at bases in Canada, France and Germany before retiring as a Flight Sergeant. He married Dorothy (nee Jackson) in 1952 and they celebrated their 68th anniversary this fall. They have 4 children: Diane (Mitch Griffin), Scott and Andrew, all of Saskatoon, and Susan (Brian Scott) of Edmonton. They have 3 grandchildren: Christine, Mark, Victoria and 3 great-grandchildren: Alex, Tommy, Ben. Jack retired to Saskatoon to be close to family. He was a quiet man who loved hunting, curling, stamp collecting, dabbling in house and yard work and creating wood furniture. He was a careful organized man with his filing cabinet and his cars with which he and Dorothy made many road trips in Canada and the U.S. He and Dorothy attended Holy Trinity Anglican Church where Dad was active in church events. He was often quiet but could be amusing with a dry teasing humour. For those invited by family, a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m on Thursday, Dec. 31 at Windsor Chapel (701 Windsor Street, Saskatoon). Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Field of Honor. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements in care of Aime Laventure – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200
