In Loving memory of Jack (John) Douglas Cameron
Jack Cameron passed away suddenly on July 25, 2020 at RUH hospital in Saskatoon.
Predeceased by parents Gordon and Bertha Cameron and sisters Joyce Warner, Jean Magill, Evelyn Magill, Margaret Cameron and brothers Bob (Robert), Donald, Jim (James) Cameron.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Phyl Cameron (nee Bowman), daughters Jody and Tracy and son, Scott; grandchildren Colin, Tanneille (David), Merlin and Jack; great grandchildren Dominic and Cameron; sisters Grace Stevenson, Maxine Wart, Geraldine (John) Middleton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was born January 11, 1938 in Melfort, SK. He attended school at Thatch Creek, Meskanaw and Saskatoon.
He ventured north to Gunnar Mines in 1957. In 1960 he met his wife Phyl who was the new teacher in town and they were married in 1961.
In 1964 when the mine closed Jack returned to school and completed his senior matriculation, teaching certificate and post graduate diploma in Regina, SK.
He taught in Halbrite, SK for two years. From 1970 to 1977 Jack worked for Ranch Ehrlo in Regina, SK.
Jack returned to teaching in 1977. He taught in White Fox and then Nipawin until his retirement in 1995.
Some of Jack’s fondest memories occurred in his retirement between spending time at Candle Lake and traveling. He enjoyed building, fishing, skiing, fishing, community life and carving; and fishing and even sometimes catching fish.
