Price, Iris C (nee Schoch)
1928 – 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Iris Price on August 22, 2020. Iris will be lovingly remembered by her children, Anita Hill (Graham), Lee, Glen (Lynn): her grandchildren, Ryan, Kristin, Suzanne, Daniel, Corinne, Evan and her great-grandchildren: Caleigh, Sorin, Kailyn, Ryker and many other family and friends. Iris was predeceased by her husband Leon, in 2011.
Iris was born in McCreary, Manitoba and raised in Crandall, Manitoba, she attended the University of Brandon earning a Psychology degree with honours. This is where she met her husband Leon, they were married in 1950.
They raised their children in Calgary and spend summers at the cottage Leon built at Adams Lake, BC. Retiring in 1985, they moved to an acreage outside of Barriere, BC where Leon designed and built their dream home. Iris was a fabulous cook and loved to entertain, hosting dinners for family and their large circle of friends. They loved to travel, visiting Spain, Ireland and Hawaii repeatedly.
She had a passion for gardening, she had beautiful flower beds and enjoyed sitting in the gazebo that Graham built for her, looking out over her pond and garden. She also enjoyed outings with her sister-in-law Marge, checking on cattle on Harp Mountain. Iris was an avid reader and loved conversation.
We will all miss her quick wit and strong sense of humour.
