Obituary for Imelda Lassaline
IMELDA LASSALINE (nee Benoit), 91 years, of Petrolia, died peacefully with family by her side at C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia on Saturday, July 25, 2020. She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Charles Lassaline. She will be sadly missed by her children Donna and Pat Holm, Pauline and Pete Pavlovic, Yvette and Jack Parkin, Elaine and Rick Elliott, and Chuck and Darlene Lassaline. Also survived by her sister Pauline (Felix) Pinsoneault and her sister-in-law Ila Lassaline. She was the cherished Meme to 13 grandchildren and “Meme Two” to 14 great grandchildren. Imelda was the 8th child of Thomas and Lucy Benoit’s 11 children. She grew up in St. Joachim, a small french community in Es County. There she met her husband, and they moved to their Petrolia farm with the big red barns and long tree lined driveway. She was a CWL member at St. Philip’s Church for 66 years. Besides her family, she loved sewing, baking, crafting, socializing and trips to Florida. She will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and her Albany family. Visitors will be received at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia on Tuesday afternoon. Due to current COVID 19 restrictions you will be required to register for a specific time to visit the family. Masks are required and if you arrive ahead of your schedule time please wait in your care. A private funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Philips Church, on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Mount Calvary, Wyoming. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to C.E.E. Hospital Foundation (www.ceehf.ca).
