Obituary of Ian Fraser
On Saturday December 5th, 2020, Ian Cameron Fraser, in his 55th year, passed away in his sleep. He moved peacefully from his home on earth to his new home in Heaven.
Ian graduated from OSCVI in Owen Sound in 1983, then went on to get his diploma in Architectural Drafting from Mohawk and Humber Colleges. He had the most in-depth perspective on design and continued to create and dream in blueprints throughout his life.
He had a beautiful smile and a kind, tender heart. He often spent more time caring about the state of those he loved than on his own life and needs. He had a nearly photographic memory, remembering everyone’s name, important aspects of their lives and all of the good times he enjoyed with each person, in detail.
Even in his hardest moments, he would stop and talk, share a smile and do his best to get you to laugh. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend.
He will be missed here by his Mom, Isabel Fraser (née Hawkins), his sister and brother-in-law Ellen and Paul Farrow, niece Emily, and nephew Conner. His Fraser family; Uncle Cam, Aunt Yvonne, Julie, Chris, James and Gillian. The Hawkins cousins; Lynn, Susan, Robert, David, Greg, Mary, Nancy, Janice and their families. His life was made better by his many friends, including Steve Busey, Debbie McMillan, Sandra Londry and his dear friend Francis.
Ian is greeted in his new home by his Dad, Craig Fraser, brother Jimmy, grandparents, John and Winnifred Fraser and Archie and Lena Hawkins, Auntie Margie, Aunt Audrey and a big party of other family and friends.
Special thanks to our amazing mental health support friends at the Owen Sound Hospital, the ACT Team, and the CMHA Grey Bruce.
Ian’s spirit has moved on, his body has been cremated. In 2021, when we can safely gather and hug, we will host a memorial for Ian. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. If you wish to help the special project that was dear to Ian’s heart, you may make a memorial donation to CMHA Garden Program.
