Helen’s Obituary
Helen Elana Bachiu of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the age of 88. Helen was born on the family farm to George and Alexandra Caragata. She taught school in Buffalo Gap and Genfeld between 1950 and 1952. She then married Dan Bachiu and they farmed in Limerick for a short time before moving to Elbow. They ran the Elbow Hotel until 1958. They moved to Moose Jaw where she took hair dressing and taught for several years. Later in life she joined her husband and worked at Dan’s Barber Shop, located in the Coop Shopping Centre until they both retired. Helen is predeceased by her husband Dan. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Connie Challenger and her son David; son Graham Bachiu (Cindy) and son Ethan; grandson Brauck and Kim Waldo; and son Pat Buchiu. A Private Family Service will take place at a later date. In living memory of Helen, a memorial planting will be made by Jones – Parkview Funeral Services.
