Peacefully at home, on Saturday, October 17, 2020, in her ninety-fifth year. Beloved wife of the late Gyula (Julius) Landau for sixty-one years. Adored mother and mother-in-law of George and Terry. Devoted Grandma of Carlye and Syd Baum, Joshua and Randi Landau. Cherished ‘Great-Grandma’ of John, Maya, Jordan, Haylee, Megan, the late Spencer z”l, and Samuel. Predeceased by her parents, Freida and Adolph, who perished in the Holocaust. Predeceased by her dear siblings and their spouses, Robert and Bella Karni, Judith and Bela Schwartz, Tibor Kornhauser, Irwin and Martha Kornhauser. Sister-in-law of the late Jolan and the late Moishe Hauer, Batia and the late Yehuda Landau. Hedy will be sadly mourned by her many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She will be greatly missed by her card playing gang. Heartfelt gratitude to the staff of CLSC René-Cassin and Mount Sinai Palliative Home Care. A special thank you to Hedy’s caregivers, Zeta and Irenka, for their compassion, love, and care. She loved you both.
