Obituary of Heather Lynn Penny-Mitton
Heather Lynn Penny-Mitton, 70 of Butler Lake, Parkdale, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at home on Saturday, May 23, 2020 following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Meta (Hillier) Casey.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband Laurice Mitton; daughter Kim Penny (Robert) Cassidy, Tantallon; sons Kevin Penny (Dee Osmond) Halifax; Chris (Emily) Penny, Hantsport; Ian Penny (Audra Hill), North Alton; step-son Andrew (Lisa) Mitton, Kentville; grandchildren Emma, Lawson, Vanessa, Presley, Ashton and Allie; brothers Brian Casey, Beaverbank; Gordon (Judy) Casey, Hammonds Plains; brother-in-law Bob Shute.
Besides her parents, Heather was predeceased by her sister Florence (Casey) Shute and sister-in-law Valerie Casey.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A Celebration of Heather’s Life will be held a later date with burial taking place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the Lunenburg County Victorian Order of Nurses . Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
