George’s Obituary
CPO2 Wells, Nelson George – of Wilmot Annapolis County, passed away Monday October 5th, 2020 at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton, N.S. Born July 28th, 1942 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan to the late James V. and Elizabeth A. (Nash) Wells. He is survived by his loving wife, June (Neville); daughters, Christine (Stan) Beck, Reno, Nevada and Patricia (Wendell) Kirby, Canton, Georgia; the ‘apple of his eye’, grandson, Liam George Kirby, Canton, Georgia; his sister, May Lamberty, Smeton, Sask.; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his sister, Lucy Forsyth and one nephew.
George served 35 years in the Canadian Navy and loved every minute of it. He was a past member of the Nova Scotia Wildlife Carvers & Artists Association and taught wildlife carving in Halifax and Dartmouth for many years. He loved the Valley and retired in Wilmot, where he fell in love with landscaping. He was a past member of the Wilmot Garden Club and a past member of the Middleton Baptist Church.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
