Obituary of Frances Lillian Isnor
Sadly, we announce the passing of Frances Lillian Isnor of Halifax at the age of 96. Frances was born September 29, 1924 in Springhill. She was the youngest daughter of Patrick and Sarah (Oldford) Donovan. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Frances moved to Halifax during the war years where she met and married Borden Isnor in 1947. They moved to Harrietsfield in the early 50’s where she lived until Bordon’s death in 1992. Together they raised their family and created a beautiful garden. She was involved in community life and always a willing volunteer. Following Borden’s death, she moved to Cambria Park where she lived an active independent life well into her 90’s. Frances was a lovely lady of who enjoyed the outdoors, travelling and spending time with friends and family. She loved her five grandchildren and they loved visiting with Nanny. She was very skilled at knitting and smocking; over the years donated dozens of sweaters and caps to the preemie unit at the IWK.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Wilson (Bill), Halifax; Kathy Brown (Richard), Charlottetown; Nancy Isnor Boyd (Dan) Windsor and grandchildren, Lauren Wilson (Michael), Marielle Wilson, Leslie Brown (Peter), Richard Jr. Brown, Allison Parker (Brandon); as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care especially during the COVID restrictions when we were unable to visit. Your kindness will always be remembered.
