Known as “Flo” or “Clem”. Flo was born on 9 November 1927 to Joseph and Florence (nee Small) McClements in Aughnacloy, Northern Ireland. Deeply loved by her brothers Roy (Helen), Albert, Gordon (Amber), Morris, William (Ida) and sister Ella Montgomery (Harry), all of whom predeceased her. Flo studied nursing in London, England. After completing her training, Flo met Harold Fynn. Harold and Flo married and emigrated to Canada in 1953, settling in Windsor soon after their arrival.
In her youth, Flo was a champion tennis player. Flo had a fulfilling career as a nurse, working at Metropolitan, Grace, and Hotel Dieu hospitals in Windsor. Before retiring, Flo took up golf and was an enthusiastic member of Ladies Leagues at Fox Glen and Roseland. After retiring, Flo and Harold spent several winters in Florida, but always found solace and comfort in their home in South Windsor, where she built many cherished friendships.
Flo is survived by her son Jeff, daughter Maureen MacKay (Dave), daughter Valerie Henderson (Bob), her grandsons Andrew Henderson (Jill) and Dave Henderson (Katherine) and her great-grandchildren Ireland, Lana, Jonah, and Jacob. Flo is fondly remembered by her sisters-in law, Amber McClements and Ida McClements and her extended family in Ireland and Scotland.
The family is grateful to Drs. Andrea Steen and Lawrence Jacobs Jr, the kind staff at St Elizabeth’s Healthcare, especially nurse Hsa Wah and PSW Lynn Lawton, and the staff at Seasons for their compassion and outstanding care.
If you so desire, donations would be welcomed by the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
A private service will be held on Tuesday. A livestream link of the Funeral Service will be available at 11:30 a.m. on Flo’s online profile. View the livestream link, share memories, photos, or make a donation online at www.FamiliesFirst.ca
