Fanny’s Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we, the children, announce the passing of our loving, beautiful mother and best friend, Fanny Elsie Young, at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on August 27th, 2020 at the age of 83 years.
Our mother was a pillar of strength and the glue for our family. Her gentle, kind touch and selfless love has left a permanent mark on all of us. We will miss her smile and loving arms forever.

This quote describes our mother perfectly; true, endless love. Thanks to my sister Sherry and her daughter, Michelle for sharing it with us.
She leaves to mourn with many loving and precious memories: son René (Sara) Young, Mission, BC; daughters: Gail (Gary) Nolan, Colleen (Leon) LeRoux, Marilyn (Roddy) Benoit, Mondella (Con) Stacey, all of Stephenville, NL, Sherry (Bob) Porteous, Prince George, BC, Robin (Kevie) Bennett, and Jackie (Ken) Bennett, both of Stephenville Crossing, NL; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; loyal and devoted companions Bruno and Cheeko; as well as a large circle of extended relatives and friends.
Fanny was predeceased by: husband Fintan A. Young Sr.; sons: Fintan A. Young Jr. and Cameron Young; parents Charles and Jane Gillam (nee Legge); brothers: William, Isaac, and Roy; and sisters: Mondella and Marie.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to current travel restrictions for family members, a service to celebrate our precious mother will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Fanny’s memory may be made to your local animal shelter. (Mom loved all animals)
