Mary Evelyn Lanteigne
1937 – 2020
Mary “Evelyn” Lanteigne of Lincoln, NB, passed away at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Born in Curventon, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Verna (Matchett) Curtis.
Evelyn worked various jobs over the years, Oromocto Public Hospital 1968-1973, Optyl Canada 1973-1984, and Scott’s Nursery 1987-1998. Evelyn was a CWL member at her church. She was involved with the Terry Fox Run for many years as a participant and a volunteer. Evelyn also enjoyed knitting and would knit for the children of Haiti.
Evelyn is survived by her two children: Robin Lanteigne Stinson of Beaumont, AB and Robert Lanteigne (Johanne) of Lincoln, NB; brother: Sheldon Curtis of Fredericton;
sisters: Mina Matchett (Harold) of Curventon, NB and Elsie (Corcoran) Taylor of Nelson Miramichi, NB;
Grandchildren: Bobbie Lee Stymiest (Ray) of Beaumont, AB, Richard Jr. Ruthven of Edmonton, AB, and Troy Lanteigne of Lincoln, NB; Great grandchildren: Lianna, Mackenzie, Robert James, Cole, and Ryan; Sister in law: Rose Curtis of Fredericton, NB;
Special Niece: Shawn Boisvert of Miramichi, NB; Lifelong friend: Carol Blenkhorn of Lincoln, NB; several nieces and nephews as well as god children.
Besides her parents, Evelyn is predeceased by her husband Robert J. Lanteigne, sister: June Curtis, brother and sister in law: Bernard and Vera Curtis; nephews: Larry Corcoran and Harley Matchett
At Evelyn’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery, Sevogle, NB later in the spring.
