Eugene’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene Franklin Hoddinott of Campbeltton, NL announce his passing in his home on December 2, 2020.
Eugene was born to Colin and Dorothea Hoddinott of Embree on April 16, 1962. He married the love of his life Joyce on August 1, 1992 and spent 28 wonderful years together. They moved to Campbellton where they raised their two girls, Megan and Kayla. Eugene was very proud of his children. He considered them his greatest joy, often referring to them as “Dad’s girls”. Eugene was a hard worker who always put his family first. Known for his love of music, sharp wit and friendliness to everyone he met, Eugene will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
He is predeceased by his parents Colin and Dorothea Hoddinott, parents in law, Margaret and Eric Bowering, and sister-in-law Donna Primmer.
Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Joyce; daughters Megan and Kayla; brother Derrick (Marilyn); sisters Judy (Dave); Wanda (Cecil); Ruth, and Glenda (Rodger); in laws Ivan (Joy), Shelia (Sterling), Mildred (Ted), Frances, Dale (Dean), Byron (Veronica), Don (Deanne), Craig (Kevin), Deon (Deanna);26 nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends who loved him dearly.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Thursday, December 3rd from 4-6 PM following COVID government regulations. The Funeral Service will take place from the Pentecostal Church, Campbellton on Friday, December 4th at 2 PM for invited guests only.
As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center will be gratefully accepted.
