Obituary
Elmer Richard Christiansen (Chris) passed away in his bed at home on September 2, 2020 after a battle with cancer.
He will be missed by his children and their spouses, James (Sandra), Janet (Robert), Diane (Lance) and Yvonne (Steve) and his grandchildren, Amy and Aeron Vaillancourt (Greg) as well as his life-long friend Harold Gordanier (Betty). One of his children, Ken (Irene), passed away June 15th this year. His wife of more than 40 years, Marlene, and grandson, Adrian Vaillancourt, also predeceased him.
Chris was born in Ponoka, Alberta on March 29, 1931, the youngest of six children to Hans and Elise Christiansen. In 1954, he married Marlene Ohman, his high school sweetheart. After graduating from the University of Alberta, he spent his working years as a Chartered Accountant in Edmonton where he raised his family and spent summers at beautiful Pigeon Lake. In 1991, Marlene and Chris moved to Peachland to enjoy retirement by another beautiful lake. He had a strong ethical sense and kept his integrity and ethics until the end. He had a kind, quiet generous manner and sense of humour and was a solid rock supporting this family. He will be missed dearly.
