Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of Eileen Maude Young, announces her peaceful passing which occurred on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the Turnbull Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, NB on June 18, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Arthur Stanley and Grace Christine (Bustard) Hayes. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Marvin Ross Young, her brother Roland, and her sisters Doreen Jones and Phyllis MacKenzie.
She will be greatly missed by her children Brenda Badger (Ron) of Hampton, Kathryn McIntyre (Chris) of Quispamsis and Rev. Ken Young (Susan) of Sus; brother Dr. Walter Hayes (Joan) of Saint John and cherished grandchildren Lesley, Cameron, Gillian, James, Gregory, Jeremiah, Ryan and Kristen; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Eileen grew up in East Saint John and after nursing school worked as a RN at the Saint John General Hospital for many years. She will be remembered as a beautiful lady with a sweet smile and gentle ways that were a blessing to others. Eileen had a strong faith in God and was a faithful member of the Saint John Wesleyan Church for decades and enjoyed spending time at the family cottage at Beulah Camp in Brown’s Flat, NB.
A special thanks to the staff at Turnbull Nursing Home who cared for Eileen with love, care and attention.
Due to the current global pandemic, a private family interment will take place in Ripples Community Cemetery. A celebration of life service will take place at a later date.
Remembrances in memory of Eileen may be made to a charity of your choosing.
