Obituary
Peacefully on Sunday, November 29th, 2020 Edna Marion Kane passed away at the Lion’s Prairie Manor. Edna was born in MacGregor, Manitoba.
Edna was one of the three children born to George and Minnie Floate. She was the youngest of the three siblings and the last surviving member of the family. Edna married Harvey Kane in 1946. They had two children Kenneth and Carol.
Edna had her own business in her home, as a hairdresser and then in later years she worked in retail stores for Co-op, Hollingsworth and later on at Stylerite in Portage.
Edna loved cooking baking and always helping others in whatever way she could. She could always be found doing crafts, sewing and knitting special items for her grandchildren and others. Edna was always involved in the MacGregor United Church and choir.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Ken (Jean) Kane of Minnedosa, grandchildren Dale (Carrie) Kane, great grandchildren Kate and Will. Denise (Tyler) Rush, great grandchildren Johnny, Courtney (Matt), Alissa, Skyler, and great-great granddaughter Abby. Daughter Carol (Grant) Ryan of Portage la Prairie. Grandchildren Kyle Ryan, great grandchildren Layne and Kacey. Crystal (Josh) Bruinooge, great grandchildren Jordyn and Lauren. Keith (Loretta) Ryan, great grandchildren Jackson and Connor. Tracy (Roger) Farr, great grandchildren Laurina and David.
Edna had a great love for her family and her extended family of many nieces and nephews, as well as close friends she cherished.
Due to Covid restrictions, a service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in Edna’s memory may be made to the MacGregor United Church, 12 Hampton St. E. MacGregor MB, R0H 0R0.
