Edna Jane Wolverton
1934-2020
Edna of Riverview, NB passed away on March 6, 2020 at the
Moncton Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit, She was born in
Colpitts Settlement, younger daughter of the Late Walter and Lena
(Hopper) Colpitts.
She attended the rural school and graduated from Salisbury
Regional High School in 1953. She attended Mount Allison the next year
and then the Provincial Laboratory in Saint John, receiving her RT in
1956.
She met Carl, the love of her life in 1962 and they were
married the following year. Carl’s job at IBM involved many
moves over the years. They lived in Moncton, Saint John, Toronto, and
Vancouver and again in Toronto, making new friends and seeing the
country.
Edna was a quiet, gentle person who liked to read, play
cards, knit, do puzzles and watch the Raptors. She especially loved
Albert County and going for lunches and long drives on the back roads
with family and friends.
Edna was a long time member of the United Church, most
recently at St. Paul’s in Riverview where she was a life
member of the U.C.W. Fowler/Gibson unit.
She leaves to mourn husband, Carl, Riverview, NB, daughter
Lynn Wolverton, Toronto, ON, son Mark (Michelle) and grandson Maxwell,
Bridgetown, NS, sister Erma Blue, Moncton, NB, sisters in law Lucille
Colpitts, Moncton and Peggy Wolverton, Medicine Hat, AB several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Archie
Colpitts, sister in law Christine Davies, brothers in law James Blue,
Benjamin Davies, and Warren Wolverton.
A service celebrating her life will be held at Saint
Paul’s United Church, 404 Cleveland Avenue, Riverview NB at
1:30 PM, Tuesday March 10th with Rev. Steve
Berube officiating.
The Family wishes to thank Steve, Andy and all the support
and love given by St. Paul’s United Church and UCW. Also,
the excellent care by the staff at the Moncton Hospital.
In memory of Edna, donations can be made to St.
Paul’s United Church, Riverview, NB or Dr. Sheldon Rubin
Oncology Unit, Moncton Hospital, NB.
Internment will take place at Colpitts Community Cemetery at
a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007).
