EDMONDSON, Douglas Lorne
1959 – 2020
Passed away peacefully at Almonte Hospital on July 29th in his 62nd year after a brave battle with metastatic brain cancer. Lovingly cared for at home by a dedicated team of CSS workers and Bayshore Palliative Care team. A special thanks to Nancy, Carie-Anne and Trevor of CSS and TeraLynn of Bayshore for keeping him comfortable.
Doug is survived by his parents Mimi and Lorne Edmondson and will be dearly missed by his sisters Carol Miller and Cathy (Steve) Hayward. Fondly remembered by his nephew and niece Cole and Emma Hayward and friends and housemates Larry and Richard and Chris.
A social guy, Doug volunteered in the past at Almonte Civitan and a therapeutic riding group. He loved animals, particularly dogs and horses and enjoyed many years working around his parent’s farm. He enjoyed skiing earlier in his life and dreamed of returning to it again some day. He participated in several bowling leagues and prided in his multiple strikes and high scores.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Sympathy donations may be made to Lanark Animal Welfare Society, Almonte General Hospital or Army Navy Air Force Society of Carleton Place.
