Obituary for
Denise Fabiena Mousseau (DesGroseilliers)
Passed away peacefully August 23, 2020, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of Alwyn Mousseau for 62 years. Devoted mother of 4 children: Michelle, Malcolm (Judi), Nicole (Ray) and Duncan. Proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren: Nicolas, Maxime, Caleb, Leah, Philippe, Michel, Mathieu and Caroline. She sadly leaves behind her brother Dr. Jean-Pierre DesGroseilliers (Louise), sister Diane Audet (Raymond), sister-in-law Noëlla Mousseau (late Melvin), as well as many other relatives and friends. Dear daughter of the late Laurent DesGroseilliers and the late Alice Létourneau DesGroseilliers . Denise was born in Kapuskasing, Ontario, August 18, 1937. She lived in Kirkland Lake, Haileybury and Sturgeon Falls before moving to Ottawa, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree, and also met her husband, Alwyn Mousseau, fondly known as “Moose”. After graduation in 1958, Denise and Alwyn were married and moved to Cornwall, where Alwyn accepted a teaching position. Their four children were born in Cornwall. The family also lived in Hawkesbury and Vankleek Hill before settling in Ottawa. In Ottawa, Denise earned a specialist certificate in School Librarianship and worked as a teacher-librarian in several secondary schools. A private family service in memory of Denise, will be held with the urn in the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Canada or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated. Burial will take place at a later date in Notre-Dame Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the Maplewood Retirement Residence and LHIN-Bayshore.
