David Howe Saturday December 19th 2020 avis de deces

Howe, J. David
Born John David Howe on April 17, 1938 in Toronto to Stanley and Lucy Howe, his life journey ended on December 19, 2020. He always looked up to his big brother Richard (Dick).
While attending Waterloo Lutheran University, David met Barbara Weiler. They married, made a home in Kitchener and spent the next 58 years together. He proudly supported Barb when she returned to teaching after having children and getting her university degree part-time.
David was a devoted father to James and Susan (Howe) McIsaac. He introduced them to camping, cheered on their athletic efforts and encouraged them to be musicians. He welcomed into his family Ian McIsaac and Marie-Helene Brais (former spouse of James). One of the highlights of his life was being the adoring Papa to his grandchildren Justine and Sebastian Howe. Each of whom have many special memories to cherish.
He is also lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Betty Jane and her husband Henry Roth, his brother-in-law Mike Weiler, his sister-in-law Betty Howe, nephews Scott and Craig Howe, niece Christine Gibbons, nephews Stephen, Jeff, Eric and Tim Roth, their significant others, many great nephews and nieces and good friends Bob and Sharon Elliott.
His career began at Mutual Life of Canada. He later managed a cafeteria-style German restaurant, researched land titles, and helped coordinate the move of the Waterloo Region School Board into its headquarters before becoming a long time school custodian.
David volunteered a lot of time to make his community better. He had a number of roles with St. Anne’s Parish. For over 50 years, he raised money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation by coordinating his neighbourhood door to door canvass and for many years leading the Jump for Heart campaign across Waterloo Region. He was also active for many years with Knights of Columbus Council #1504.
He took pride in his gardens, visited many countries around the world after retiring, and cheered for his Toronto Argonauts.
