Obituary of Dan O’Leary
With the love of his family, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on August 27th, 2020. Daniel « Dan » Robert O’Leary, of Owen Sound, at the age of 63 years. Missed by his wife of 40 years, Debbie O’Leary (nee Anderson). Loving father of Michael (Amy) O’Leary of Camlachie and Sara (Mike) O’Leary of Owen Sound. Grandfather to Noah, Chase, and Everly. He is also survived by his siblings, Sue (Rob)Thomas, Brian (LeeAnne) O’Leary and Gary (Shelley) O’Leary all of Owen Sound. Dan is remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Predeceased by his parents Robert and Isabel (nee Smith) O’Leary and father-in-law Les Anderson.
Dan was a faithful fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Leafs. Everyone who knew Dan witnessed his passion for golf. He especially treasured his rounds on the course with both Michael and Sara. He enjoyed many years watching the two in hockey, baseball, lacrosse and soccer. He was also a coach and manager for several years with Owen Sound minor hockey and baseball.
Being in the vehicle sales industry for both Hal Wright and Grey Motors, Dan, with his passion for conversation met many people who started as clients, remained friends.
A special thank you to doctors and nursing staff in emergency, ICU and 6th floor at GBHS for your compassionate care for both Dan and family.
A Celebration of Life, Come and Go will be held at Stonetree Golf Course on Saturday , September 19th, 2020, 1-4. Physical distancing rules will be in place and request that they be followed for everyone’s comfort.
