Capt. Eric’s Obituary
PINCH, Capt. Eric Russell, age 87 of South Ohio. It is with deep sadness the family announce the passing of Eric on Saturday the 21st of November, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born the 8th of May 1933 in West Brooklyn, Kings, co, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Winnifred (Zwicker) Pinch. Eric leaves behind his wife of 64 years Carolyn (Thibodeau) sons; Russell (Wendy), Kenneth (Sharon), Daughter; Jacqueline (aka Mitzie) Smith of Canaan, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and his beloved cat Tiggie. Eric was predeceased by his parents, brothers Kenneth and Jack, sisters Betty Roberts and Grace Lowe and his Great grandchild Jared. Before his retirement Eric worked on both MV Bluenose ships, totaling 40 years starting from a deck hand working his way up to Captain where he spent the remainder of his career. Captain Pinch gained his Captains license at Holland collage, PE which was a great achievement for him and his family, as he hadn’t finished school as a boy. He was an avid outdoors man who spent his life hunting fishing farming and working in the woods. His family meant the world to him, he always had time to have a chat. Eric will be deeply missed by all. In keeping with Erics wishes Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation or service by his request. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
