Surrounded by family, Brenda Lee Clayton passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Sakura House, Woodstock at the age of 55 years. Beloved wife of Randy Hildebrant of Tillsonburg. Proud and loving mother of Warren (Brittany) Martin of North Vancouver, and Jake (Jelissa) Martin of St. Thomas. Loving stepmom to Cody (Breena) Hildebrant and Brooke Hildebrant of Tillsonburg. Devoted daughter to Mary Jane Clayton and loving sister to Darryl Clayton of St. Thomas. Proud aunt to Cheri Mackay and Rick Mackay. Also survived by all of Randy’s extended family. Predeceased by her father Edward Clayton (2012) and sister Barbara Mackay (2012). Brenda nursed tirelessly for 30 years in the burn unit, trauma unit, Cami Health Centre and returned to the emergency department at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital where she loved to give support, compassion and respect to all she knew. Brenda loved caring for and “motherizing” her family and being a homemaker. She enjoyed walking her dogs in the woods, camping up north and using her Nikon to take photos of nature. She will be missed by cheerful friends and co-workers who contributed to her happiness. Strength and understanding in this beautiful journey called life. She will also be missed by fur babies Lady Di and Max. Due to the Coronavirus, there will be no Celebration of Life but Brenda wanted to remind everyone that everyday is a celebration of life and to live it to the fullest. Private family inurnment will take place at the Delmer Cemetery. Memorial donations to Bethel Pentecostal Church, Ostrander’s Veterinary Clinic’s Farley Foundation or Sakura House would be appreciated by Brenda’s family and may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
