Brenda’s Obituary
STEWART, Brenda Evangeline – 64, of Barrington, passed away on July 26th, 2020, at her residence. Born in Barrington on September 11th, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Ralston and Marion (Ross) Stewart. Brenda graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree. After graduating university, Brenda began her teaching career at Barrington Municipal High School, then taught for several years at Port La Tour Consolidated School, before stepping away from teaching to start a family and become a stay at home mom. Once her children were older, Brenda returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher. She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother. Church was a very important part of Brenda’s life. Brenda loved music and was a member of Majesty Choir for many years. Brenda was an avid reader and enjoyed tending her flowers. She loved attending the kitchen parties at the Barrington Seniors Centre and spending time with her good friend, Phil. Brenda is survived by her children, Malinda Crowell (Ronald Burns) of Green Oaks; Michelle Crowell of Shelburne; Matthew Crowell of Shad Bay and their father, Graham Crowell of Barrington. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Isabelle; siblings, James (Charlene) Stewart of Brass Hill; Donna (Bert) Beaulieu of North West Harbour and Dale Stewart of Shelburne; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her siblings, Wayne, Alton, Darrell, Margaret, Patricia and Roseanne. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31st, 2020 at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington at 2:00 pm with Pastor Edwin Allen officiating. Due to Covis-19 restrictions, seating may be limited and social distancing guidelines must be followed. Also, please note that immediate family will be given priority for seating. There will be a livestream of this service on the Huskilson’s website (www.huskilson.net) for those unable to attend due to gathering restrictions. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Atlantic Cemetery in Stoney island, or a charity of your choice.
