Betty Sheehan
1928-2020
Rebecca Isabel « Betty » Sheehan,
age 92, of Fraser’s Mountain, passed away Thursday, December
10, 2020, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in The Bronx, New York, she was a daughter of the late Jack and
Margaret (Punch) MacMillan. She was a school teacher, retiring after
37 years. Betty was a member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic
Church and CWL. She volunteered with the Food Bank and Meals on
Wheels. She is survived by a daughter, Marlene Sheehan; sons: Joe
(Gina); Dan (Beverly); grandchildren: Jeffery, Julie, Daniel, Devin,
Zack, Luke and Riley; great-granddaughter, Lennon; step-grandchildren,
George and Ryan; former daughter-in-law, Linda; chosen children: Jack,
Dan, Barry, David and Margo. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan;
son, John and sister, Theresa MacInnis. Visitation 2-5 pm Sunday,
December 13, in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow.
Those attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing. A
private Funeral Mass will take place. Donations in her memory may be
made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Pictou County Food
Bank.
