In loving memory of our Dad, Bert Smith
Dad was born in London England Feb 1, 1916. He arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax in 1932, found work in Wolfville where he met our Mum, Lavaughn. They were married 62 years.
Dad is predeceased by his wife, Lavaughn, sons Harvey and Peter, and daughter Rochene.
Left to mourn are his little sister Edna and family, daughters Wendy, Barbara, Judy, and son Dan. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Dad took care of us for 104 1/2 years and will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa, on Friday August 7th at 11 a.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. Burial at Pinecrest Remembrance Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, seating for the service is limited, to reserve a seat please call 613-722-6559. If desired in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Salvation Army.
