It is with great sadness, that the family of Art Haynes, announce his passing, on Sunday March 1st, 2020 at the Health Sciences Centre, in the presence of his loved ones. Art put up a good fight in hospital for 2 months. He wanted nothing more than to get better and walk out of there. Unfortunately, that never happened. Many hearts have been broken with his passing.
Predeceased by his mother Nellie Haynes and brother Greg. Leaving to mourn, his devoted wife and soulmate Deborah Noseworthy, his children Arthur (Jennifer), Maria, Diana, Bill; his stepchildren Danica (Dave – his very dear friend) Crewe, Brad (Holly) Moore. His precious grandchildren Annabelle, Benjamin, Bradyn, Brody and Coby; his little buddy Shiloh. Siblings Bob, Judd (Toni), Wayne (Patsy), Madonna, Sisters in-law Pat Haynes, Trudy (Barry) Jones, Bev Noseworthy (Gerard Horan), Brother in-law Rick (Sally) Noseworthy, mother in-law Bernice Noseworthy. His nieces and nephews. His best friend (and honorary brother) Gary Tilley; Janet & Glen Lochte- special friends in Texas. Art also had a large extended family whom he enjoyed great times and many a happy hour with over the summer in Bryant’s Cove.
Art was well known in the furniture business both as a top salesman and owner of Haynes Furniture and Downhome Furniture. For over 50 years, Art played saxophone with Rock & Roll bands such as the Ducats, the Art Haynes Combo, Center Stage and many others. Art had a personality larger than life with his many stories and jokes to fit any occasion. He and Debbie shared their passion for music and loved to dance, especially the Jive.
His family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the HSC cardiology and nephrology depts. as well as the nursing staff on 5 South A, especially Amanda and John, and the nurses in CCU, particularly Kim, Danielle, Caroline and Colin, for their kind and compassionate care during his stay in hospital.
At Art’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation is scheduled at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd, St John’s, Friday March 6th, 2020 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday March 7th, 2020 at 2pm.
