In Loving Memory of
Armando “Mando” Sallegue Sr
June 25, 1948- May 5, 2020
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of a 71 year old “Mando” at Rocky View Hospital Calgary. He was a good father, grandfather, brother, a friend and a pillar our family and in the community of Couples for Christ. He was born in the Philippines and visited his son and family here in High River, Alberta. He found this place his second home and dreamed of being a permanent resident of Canada. He loved walking everyday around Sunshine and Emerson Lakes. In a short time, he’d made many friends in this town.
Armando was a good father to his four sons and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren. Armando Jr, the eldest one with wife Aireen and daughters Nicole and Theresa live in General Santos City, Philippines. The next one is Alexis Bryan, now living in Vienna Austria with wife Robee and two kids Alessa and Angelo. The third son, Arwyn together with wife Mercy and five kids, Ailish, Adrian, Angela, Ashlee and Aniela is the family whom Armando is staying with here in High River, Alberta. The youngest one, Archieval with wife Marian (expecting to deliver this month their second baby) and daughter Andria live also in General Santos City, Philippines.
With a grateful heart, the family wants to acknowledge everyone who supported and comforted them in this time. A special thanks to all frontline workers who took care and gave their best effort to fight for Armando in his battle at Rockyview Hospital, Calgary. To the community of Couples for Christ, Filipino Community, and everyone who prayed with the family in storming heaven for Armando’s healing, a big Thank You.
Viewing is scheduled at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 301 Macleod Trail, High River, on Saturday, May 9, 2020, between 1:00 – 5:00pm. Please note that due to the current covid 19 pandemic, social distancing must be observed at all times. Assistance will be given to friends and family to ensure that provincial guidelines pertaining to mass gatherings is followed. A private family Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church, High River with Rev. Fr. Mariusz Sztuk, Celebrant. Cremation will follow with interment in the Philippines at a later date. Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on you-tube, as well, will be available for viewing on the funeral home website on Monday.
