As her passing today, Tuesday, December 8, 2020, Anita’s journey finished 33 years after her cancer began. It was chosen by her, what a day she was ready to finalize the unbelievable and courageous battle, and rejoin her family awaiting in paradise. Loving wife of the late Leon Bélanger. Mother of Denise (Ken) Prior, Richard (Julina) Rouleau, Don (Loretta) Rouleau, Angele (Dan) Desbiens, Carol (Shane) Bleach and Gaetanne (Chris) Shelstad. Loving memère to 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Loving daughter of Emery Daoust and Lilliane Sauvage (both predeceased). Sister of the late Diane (Marcel Giroux). Survived by her sister Fabiola Daoust and brother Les (Linda) McKenzie. Special godmother of Tracy, late Don and special niece Lynn Levasseur. Special thank you to Dr. Meagan Cusack and Dr. Candice Walton for the special care they gave her, her PSW’s Carole, Jamie and Carole, and to the best nursing staff on 7 North, a special thank you from “Grandma of the floor”. To the Bayshore nurses Jennifer and Ashley, for the compassionate care given and Mom’s family at Pharmasave for always making sure she has everything that’s needed. Anita will be remembered for being sweet, kind, loving, full of life and inspiration to all. Her family was her entire world. Due to the current pandemic, the family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury by invitation only. A funeral Mass will be held at the St-Jean de Brébeuf Church on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2 p.m. A limited amount of people will be allowed into church and masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque or online) to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
